A Senior Poet’s Enticement
It is a normal thing for me to do
As a Senior, to give to my community— to you!
As a compassionate Good Samaritan I try
To present my insights, my experience—and why?
My poetry, stories and songs inform and connect
With language being concrete and direct.
At times I strive to give my knowledge and intuition
Only to meet obstacles, or be frustrated by opposition.
Such harsh moments I live through and shrug away.
History’s taught me there will be another good day!
