About your Instructor:
Jessica M. Wilson, MFA, is an International Chicana Poet, Educator, Activist, born in East Los Angeles, California, Aztlan, Turtle Island. She has an Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from Otis College of Art and Design, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Creative Writing from University of California, Riverside. She is an internationally published Author. An organzier and actviist with 100 Thousand Poets for Change. She is a Poet Teacher and Area Coordinator for California Poets in the Schools, and an Instructor for UCLA Extension's Writers Program, where she teaches Storytelling for Social Justice. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Los Angeles Poet Society (LA Poet Society Inc.), a radio DJ, Publisher, Mother of 2, and lover of 1.

Classtime, 6:30-8pm in person. Meets on Thursdays, starting April 25.
The Ekphrastic Poetry Master Classes, lead you on a journey of modern and contemporary art, residing currently at Avenue 50 Studios. Each class will examine one piece exhibited at Avenue 50, and one Masterpiece that relates to it, diving into techniques and adaptations.
- Journals and Writing Materials are provided.
- Participants will have the opportunity to dialogue with the Artists, or have a Meet & Greet, at the culmination reading.* (pending Artist availability)
- Participants that attend a minimum of 3 classes will be included in an Ekhprastic Poetry Experience, Zine, published by LA Poet Society Press, as a culmination of the series.
