Need something to do this weekend? Saturday, September 6th, Los Angeles Poet Society will be hosting the 4th Annual Always Running Book Festival. We will be at Homeboy Art Academy (1231 N Spring St, Los Angeles) with the amazing Luis J. Rodriguez and Fabian Debora.

This event will be free for all ages, and will span from 1-5pm! We will have a raffle for KIND (Kids in need of Defense) at this event, each ticket is $3 or you can get 4 tickets for $10. Make sure to come support this amazing event and this cause!

Want a quick overview of what to expect?

We will open with a conversation with Luis Rodriguez and Fabian Debora regarding their astonishing book (Rodriguez) and artwork (Debora), respectively. This will be an amazing opportunity to get a special insight on the inner workings of their creativity and how their art came to life to meet the eyes of millions of people around the world.

Next, we will have an art show by Fabian Debora. We also have the honor of having a reading for Always Running by Rodriguez which will last about thirty minutes.

Aside from these artists, there will be a 3o minutes Wellness Love writing workshop hosted by poet, Andrea Lee. Featured music by local San Fernando Valley musician, Alex Infinity, will be playing from his recently dropped album 818 Heartbreak throughout the program. With remaining time, the mic will be open to the public where they can share whatever creative medium they want to display.

Los Angeles Poet Society will have a silent auction where we will be auctioning various items, stick around to put in your on bid and see who wins!

These actors from Los Angeles Poet Society Teatro will be doing a play on six scenes which depict events from Luis Rodriguez's book Always Running, La Vida Loca: Gang Life in L.A.
